Don’t judge any book by its cover. It’s simply not the smart thing to do, and while first impressions are always based on appearances and first things spoken, that very first interaction, she’s always into that sort of lowdown foolery. A sweet smile as she says the most venomous things; a small laugh at your misfortunes. She’s the blonde-haired, blue-eyed witch exchanging cabbage for a firstborn child. Confining and tormenting and adoring in her sickly-sweet, sarcastic way. Sometimes you just can’t be sure what exactly it is she means, but maybe she’d prefer for you not to know at all.

Control. Power. Larxene has a fascination with both of these things; she likes to manipulate people to her benefit, and seems not to feel even a slight amount of empathy for others. Prone to manipulate to obtain either of these things, she’s rather elaborate with her plots and tends to execute them with a flourishing sort of efficiency. Others would describe it as a side effect of her exceptionally ruthless personality. Savage, some would call her, but even with all her cruel tendencies Larxene is far from a brute; she is a lady, after all. Almost a proper one, too, but with ‘please’s and ‘thank you’s blocked out of her vocabulary but manners being held nonetheless, she’s far from the ideal woman, pride-swollen head and cruelty not the best sort of characteristic even if they’re entertaining ones to have.

But her ‘manners’ only hold so far: extending only to her eating habits at the table. She is blunt; she is horrifyingly direct; she’ll lie and lie and lie; she’ll demand, demand and demand. She never skirts an issue if she’s got something that she wants to say. Skirting and prolonging suspense are two entirely different things, however, and the latter she does a lot of because of her flair for the dramatic. In her taunting she isn’t unlikely to strike a pose and dive on with her speech, or make looks of mock sympathy, which is a major irritant for some of her tauntees.

And that’s just the effect she’s looking for. She’s got a steel, razorblade edge to her that bites and tears and never lets you get away entirely unharmed; sometimes it’s just a matter of getting under your skin, sometimes it’s just a matter of making you cry. And generally speaking? It’s a matter of making you feel. Larxene is obsessed with the way of forging emotions in others. She’s always hoping that you’re thinking her words that are designed to hurt over and over and over again, and she’s hoping that you’re up to letting the hurt wind its way in deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper until there’s only this hollowed out husk of something that once was. It’s beautiful. It’s an art in itself.

Larxene doesn’t like to break her toys, though; she simply likes to make them wish that they could be. She likes to play with them, games of pulling and pushing and shoving until it’s nearly broken but yet remains in the realms of repair. And she’s so so good at it, too. At instilling hate. Loathing. Dislike. It’s fun. And she’s not dumb enough to end her fun.

She likes to do it. Likes making people feel like nothing. She’s of a horribly sadistic nature and has no notions of trying to hide it, throwing the exaggerated obvious in your face then rubbing it in slowly and slowly with every syllable that runs off of her toxic-laid tongue. And if you ignore her, don’t let her know you’re being effected at all, she’ll go. Because she doesn’t waste her time with those who are boring.

Electricity makes its way downwards to the ground and maybe the same could be said of Larxene; she’s drawn to those who seem the most unlikely to react, because the weak-- they’re only entertaining for so long. They only last for a little while, weak toys take so little to snap and bend in on themselves and break. They don’t fight back. But when they do--

It certainly is entertaining.

→ history: Born to a rich family in a suiting rich area, Larxene was bathed in gold and glamour from the day she could suck her own thumb. Spoiled rotten and an only child, ‘no’ is an answer she will not take.

The only remarkable things about her childhood is that it is littered with the corpses of beloved pets the “cat” got to, and notes sent home from the teacher. Larxene is a bully in the most subtle of ways; teasing, manipulating, and playing headgames even in elementary, it’s obvious that not much has changed from then till now.

When Larxene is around oh, ten or eleven years old, her parents become a lesser presence in her life-- there’s no one to keep her in check, and she gets an admirable attitude problem because of that; however, she’s still got her manners, and knows how to act around the right people. Always keeping up an air of authority about her, Larxene is an intimidating girl even at fourteen-- devious, manipulative and intelligent, her thoughts wander to the future.

Doing her family any sort of dishonor isn’t in her agenda, but to go the route of doctor, lawyer or veterinarian-- oh, even a teacher-- is to go the route of the terribly drab. Politics is something she’s interested in, but that too holds a prospect of too much paperwork and nothing of any substance.

So what career does she hit instead? Law enforcement. And oh, no, don’t think for a second she’s doing it out of the goodness of her own heart-- she’s a girl more in it for the thrill than anything else. She has nothing against letting someone off if they drop in a good word for her with someone high up in the criminal world-- she’d be there herself if not for the perks of staying ‘lawful’. The information she gets and the games she can play on that side are worth it.
